Stay Hydrated

Children can quickly become dehydrated, especially when they’re active in the summer heat. Encourage your kids to drink water regularly, even if they don’t feel thirsty. Keep a water bottle with them at all times, and make sure they take regular sips. Opt for water or electrolyte-rich drinks and avoid sugary beverages that can actually contribute to dehydration.

Sun Safety is Key

Protecting your child’s skin from the sun’s harmful rays is crucial. Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to all exposed skin, and reapply every two hours, or more frequently if your child is swimming or sweating. Don’t forget areas like the ears, back of the neck, and tops of the feet.
